With no backlight on the original Game Boy, low-light play was a problem, and the Light Master is one of many devices made to solve it. It has lamps to light the screen and a magnifying lens that enlarges the display by about 1.4 times, and it folds flat to save space when not in use.
It is one of a dozen lights and magnifiers in the collection, several of which share this fold-out lamp-and-lens design.
