Pokémon Card GB is a video-game adaptation of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, turning the real-world card battler into a single-player quest: you travel between clubs, challenge Grand Masters and build decks from more than 200 cards drawn from the game's first sets. It is a card game wrapped in a light role-playing adventure.
This is the Japanese release (DMG-ACXJ-JPN), a dual-mode Game Boy and Game Boy Color cartridge that also runs on the original DMG-01. It was developed by Hudson Soft and Creatures, published by Nintendo, and released in Japan in 1998. This copy is complete in box and still includes the holographic Dragonite promo card (No. 149) that was packed in with every Japanese copy, which rarely survives alongside the game.
