Game Boy

Fortified Zone 2 is the first Western release of Ikari no Yousai 2, a top-down run-and-gun action game that Jaleco kept exclusive to Japan when it appeared on the Game Boy in 1992. Players control the agents Masato and Mizuki as they infiltrate a fortress to stop a weapon of mass destruction, with three weapons, a password save system and two-player co-op over the link cable.

This cartridge is the 2025 edition from Broke Studio, the French label that presses brand-new Game Boy cartridges, released with Omaké Books and a City Connection localisation. Produced more than three decades after the original, it brings a long-inaccessible Jaleco title to Western collectors on physical media, complete with a full-colour box and manual.
