Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, the sequel to Super Mario Land, was released in 1992 and sold over 10 million copies, becoming one of the most successful and highest-rated games on the Game Boy.

It is best known for marking the first appearance of Wario, Mario's greedy rival, who would soon get his own game and series. This is the Japanese release (DMG-L6J); the European version is also catalogued in the collection.
