GBS Windows is a loving recreation of Windows 3.1 that runs on the Game Boy Color, built in GB Studio by the Spanish developer Ruben Retro. Boot it up and the handheld shows a grey 1990s desktop with working programs: a real game of Minesweeper, a small media player and a Paint tool that can even print your doodles on the Game Boy Printer. It is sold as a boxed cartridge whose packaging and floppy-disk-style label are modelled on the original Windows 3.1.
It runs only on the Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance, not the original DMG-01. Start it on a DMG-01 and it detects the older hardware, explains that it needs a Game Boy Color, and offers a round of Minesweeper as consolation. The museum's copy was a generous donation. It is catalogued here under Specials because it is such an ambitious project and all in all Minesweeper is also a game :-)
