The Light Player is another of the many fold-out devices made to light and enlarge the Game Boy screen. It has lamps to illuminate the display and a lens that magnifies it by about 1.4 times, and folds away when not needed.
Its design is close to several others in the collection, such as the Light Master and the Super Cobra, a reminder of how many companies offered near-identical solutions to the same problem.
