Museum on a Cart is a homebrew Game Boy cartridge built with GB Studio by Digital Retro Park, a museum for home computers and consoles in Offenbach, Germany. Released in 2021, it recreates the museum's real exhibition in miniature: you pick a visitor and explore the rooms from the Commons Café, clicking arcade machines, home computers and consoles to read about the early days of computing, with a few hidden ghosts and mini-games along the way. It runs on original Game Boy hardware.
This copy was a generous gift to the Game Boy Museum from Digital Retro Park, and it is a project close to our own: the Game Boy Museum also lives on a cartridge you can run on the hardware. Two like-minded efforts, each taking a different route to the same idea of a museum that fits inside a Game Boy.
