This is the transmitter cartridge of the insideGadgets Wireless Game Boy Controller, a modern homebrew system that turns a Game Boy into a wireless gamepad. The cart slots into the console like an ordinary game and broadcasts the eight Game Boy buttons over a low-latency radio link, not Bluetooth, to a matching receiver up to several metres away. It works with the DMG, Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance.
The transmitter is only half of the system. A range of receivers plug into different targets, so the same Game Boy can drive many machines: a USB receiver for PC, Raspberry Pi and other emulation, and console receivers for the NES, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, GameCube and the Wii remote expansion port, with an Atari 2600 option too. One cartridge can be paired to several receivers, and the receivers also work with the separate GBA transmitter cart. Designed and made in Australia.
