SHVC-SGB2-JPN-2
The Super Game Boy 2 is a revised version of the Super Game Boy, sold only in Japan, with a slimmer transparent blue housing.
It added a Game Link connector and an LED, so a Game Boy or compatible hardware such as the Game Boy Printer could be linked while playing through the SNES, and its updated firmware brought five new screen-border designs. The original Super Game Boy, in its Japanese, US and European versions, is also in the collection.

DOL-A-GPPL(JPN)
The Game Boy Player plays Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance games on the Nintendo GameCube, and it was the last official hardware solution for playing original Game Boy cartridges on a successor console.
The unit (DOL-017) plugs into the high-speed port under the GameCube and needs a boot disc (DOL-006). It does not emulate the Game Boy; instead it contains hardware almost identical to the Game Boy Advance. It joins the Super Game Boy and Transfer Pak in the collection's group of cross-console adapters.

DMG-MMSA-JPN
Nintendo Power was a Japan-only download service for the Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Super Famicom that let players load games onto special flash cartridges. This Game Boy flash cartridge holds up to seven games.
This version comes pre-loaded with Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land. It launched in 1999, fairly late in the Game Boy's life, which makes it an interesting record of how Nintendo kept the platform going.

DMG-P-FINC
This limited Game Boy Racing Set was sold only in the United States. It brings together the Hip Pouch carrying case (DMG-ANC), F1 Race with the 4-Player Adapter (DMG-07), and the game Super R.C. Pro-Am.
Multi-item promotional sets like this are uncommon today because the value lies in keeping every part together with the box. The 4-Player Adapter also appears elsewhere in the collection in its own bundles.

649 2223
The original Game Boy had no screen backlight, which made playing in poor light difficult. The Light Max (VLB-02) was the officially licensed answer to that problem, produced by Vic Tokai.
It is one of a large family of lights and magnifiers made for the Game Boy, many of which are catalogued in the collection. Its design was widely copied; the Gamester Light Magnifier in the collection looks very similar.

DMG-TR-USA
Tetris is the best-selling game on the Game Boy. More than any other title, it defined the system and helped turn Nintendo's handheld into a worldwide phenomenon.
Its appeal lies in its simplicity: easy to learn, hard to put down, and timeless in design. The console was bundled with Tetris in several markets, and a number of those Tetris bundles are catalogued in the collection alongside this US cartridge.

DMG-ML-USA-2
Super Mario Land was the first Mario game for the Game Boy and launched with the console in 1989. Nintendo expected it to be the system's showcase title until Nintendo of America chose to bundle Tetris instead.
Even so, it sold more than 18 million copies, outselling the NES hit Super Mario Bros. 3, and it led to two sequels: Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins in 1992 and Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 in 1994. Both sequels, the Japanese release and a period strategy guide are also catalogued in the collection. This is the US cartridge.

DMG-98003
For a short time in the UK, Super Mario Land and Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins were sold together in a single double pack.
